Welcome to the Kentucky Commission on Small Business Advocacy

Your Opinion Counts! To help us to better understand the needs and issues facing small businesses in Kentucky, please take a few minutes to complete our first opinion survey.

Small businesses are big business in Kentucky, and the Kentucky Commission on Small Business Advocacy (CSBA) is spreading that message across the Commonwealth. The CSBA board members represent a variety of small business sectors, government agencies, and city classes. Legislatively created in the 2000 General Assembly, the CSBA is now part of the Kentucky Economic Development Cabinet. The mission of CSBA is to act as a business advocate, advising small business owners and helping resolve their concerns and questions about state and federal government regulations.

Year after year small business remains the fastest-growing business segment in Kentucky and across the nation. Small businesses make up 93 percent of Kentucky’s businesses and are the backbone of both the local and national economy. CSBA is addressing the needs of small businesses in such areas as capital, environment, procurement, human capital, international trade and interstate commerce, innovation, taxation, regulation and paperwork, marketing, health insurance, workers compensation, and community development. We want to hear from you. If you have any issues related to your business needs please contact the Commission on Small Business Advocacy at 502-564-2722 or 877-355-3822 or email us.

NEW REGULATORY ALERT SYSTEM

The RegWatch Website has been launched!

The Commonwealth Office of Technology (COT) launched RegWatch, a website created to enable citizens to register with state government agencies to receive notification of newly proposed administrative regulations or changes to existing regulations. RegWatch is a free service, and begins by registering your notification preferences at the RegWatch website.

The Commission on Small Business Advocacy is appreciative of the work by the Kentucky General Assembly in creating this program and also having the opportunity to work with COT and the Small Business Ombudsmen in its creation. Click here to visit the RegWatch page: https://secure.kentucky.gov/regwatch.
